You can point directly at Polaris during the day using a Compass. A magnetic compass is great for setting up your telescope. If you travel to a dark location you may have to consider trees and/or other obstacles in your way. Another benefit using a compass is finding a great location to setup. Simple and easy to use. I highly recommend a Magnetic Compass with a Sighting window compass for your traveling AP setup.
